Print out this Starcraft 2 hotkey guide for easy reference when playing. Knowing your hotkeys well is essential when moving beyond Silver league. The hotkeys enable the production of units and buildings almost instantly and as you progress through the leagues every second of a game will become vital.

To improve your hotkey skills, start a custom game using the computer as the enemy. The computer will generally sit in base developing buildings, which creates a good opportunity to practice the hotkeys. If you can master these keys early on, and utilize them at every opportunity, such as pressing ‘Ctrl’ while clicking your gatherers at the start of the match, or pressing A+ left click to attack move.

Do not forget to assign your own hotkeys to important buildings such as your main building (Nexus, Hatchery or Command Center respectively) by clicking Ctrl+ (the number you want it to be assigned to). This will enable the ongoing production of units even while you are engaged in battle.

Protoss Hotkeys Guide

Protoss Units – Units are built at the location specified

Protoss Buildings – Buildings are created by a Probe (except the Warpgate)

Protoss Unit Abilities – Select the unit then hotkey for the ability

Zerg Hotkeys Guide

Zerg Units – Units are created from Lava, unless specified

Zerg Buildings – Buildings are created by a Drone, unless specified

Zerg Unit Abilities – Select the unit, then hotkey

Terran Hotkeys Guide

Terran Units

Terran Buildings – buildings are created by an SCV, unless specified
